Las noticias dicen que Henny Arling, mejor conocida como la dueña de Witchy Bitchy, ha pintado su casa de Steinkjellerkroken de rosa chillón. Esto no sería un problema en casi ninguna otra parte del mundo (de hecho incluso Stavanger tiene su propia calle de colores, tipo Caminito), pero el barrio en el que se encuentra la colorida vivienda es famoso por sus casitas blancas de madera. Un cambio tan radical como este debe contar con el apoyo de los vecinos y, a juzgar por el revuelo general, no es el caso. Parece ser que Henny Arling tendrá que volver pintar su casa, pero no está convencida. “El rosa es un color genial. Nadie puede enfadarse al mirarlo”, dijo a los medios de comunicación. No está sola. Una iniciativa para que la pequeña casa del callejón conserve su color cuenta ya con casi 500 firmas. Ahora tú también puedes ser parte del cambio.

Our neighbourhood is the talk of the town. The talk of every town it seems. The news is Henny Arling, better know as the woman behind Witchy Bitchy, has painted her house in Steinkjellerkroken bright pink. That probably wouldn’t be a big deal anywhere else in the world —in fact, even Stavanger even has its own Caminito-like colourful street—, but the neighbourhood where the house is is known for its white wooden houses. A “major change” like this has to have the neighbours’ support first, and that doesn’t seem to be the case, according to popular reactions. It appears the house must be repainted. But Ms. Arling is not convinced. Pink —she says— is a great colour. You can’t get angry by looking at it. She’s not alone. Almost five hundred people have up till now signed a petition to let the little house on the alley keep its new looks. Now you can also be part of the change.
